Upward Spiral
If I meet old challenges again, I shall meet them at a higher spiritual understanding.
e often find patterns in our interactions in
life. A challenge we have faced before comes back in a parallel situation. We learn to handle major life lessons in the same way that we learn
new skills. We learn a little, practice, learn more from practice, practice more, have new insights into the skill, and then practice more still.
When we detect repetitive challenges, we know that there is a spiritual skill, insight, or discipline we need. The challenge
may involve anger, humility, dealing with a mote in our brother’s eye, or other things. We look at what didn’t work and turn to God in
prayer to find the skills we need that will help us walk the higher path.
Proverbs 9:9, “Give an opportunity to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser; teach a just
man, and he will increase in learning.”
