It pays our bills and brings us everything we need and more. We watch with joy and gratitude as Spirit grows in Unity Church of Rochester beyond our greatest expectations. We bless ourselves and one another. And so it is. Amen.
Reflections: Thoughts and Quotes
Our mind must be focused on the idea we are one with the Source and have access to all that is God Mind. Through meditation and prayer we must abide in the thought of unlimited supply. Great care must be taken not to fall into error thinking and betraying the GOD GIVEN POSSIBILIITIES within us. Speak the prosperity thought and then be silent, allowing the idea to become firm in consciousness.
Thoughts of limitation are forbidden.
When you take yourself seriously, you don’t take God seriously enough.
God is crazy about you. He sends flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning.
Whenever you want to talk to God, He’ll listen. He can live anywhere in the universe, and He chooses your heart.
The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts.
You cannot always control your circumstances, but you can always control your own thinking
The game of life is the game of boomerangs. Our thoughts, deeds and words return to us sooner or later, with astounding accuracy.
Don’t give up. Moses was once a basket case.
Worry is interest paid on trouble before it is due.
Can’t sleep? Try counting your blessings.
Give God what’s right...not what’s left.
When praying, don’t give God instructions...just report for duty.
Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them. - The Dalai Lama

The Gospel According to You
Anonymous
If none but you in the world today
Had tried to live in a Christ-like way,
Could the rest of the world look close at you
And find the path that is straight and true?
If none but you in the world so wide
Had found the Christ for his daily guide,
Would the things you do and the things you say
Lead others to live in His blessed way?
Ah, friends of the Christ, in the world today
Are many who watch you upon your way,
And look to the things you say and do
To measure the Christian standard true.
Men read and admire the Gospel of Christ
With its love so unfailing and true,
But what do they say and what do they think
Of the Gospel according to you?
You are writing each day a letter to me-
Take care that the writing is true;
'Tis the only Gospel that some men will read,
That gospel according to you.
We don't change God's message...His message changes us.
GOD
Rev. Christopher Chenoweth
I do not fear God.
When I say that statement, during one of my speaking engagements, or in print, it ALWAYS startles people.
People think it's natural and normal to fear God, or at the least to say they do, even if they know better.
I do not fear the most loving presence in my life. Nor do I fear God's will, which is not disaster, but rather absolute good beyond that which I cannot even imagine.
Is your God moody? Is your God tricky? Is God just waiting to get you? Does God have a sick sense of humor that enjoys your suffering?
If we follow Jesus Christ we have a different concept of God as a God of love.
God is helpful, not tricky. God is constant and not moody. God is not a dictator that punishes, but rather a loving, benevolent spirit - that is love itself. God does not curse, God empowers. God does not leave one dangling over disaster to satisfy a bloodthirsty whim. God is not a life taker, but rather a life giver. God does not drive you insane but instead gives you peace.
God is always there for you, wherever you are, night or day, waiting to give a helping hand, a fresh idea, revitalized health, a new life of love in old worn-out relationships.
I have said many times what we think about God says a lot more about us than God. Our spirituality depends upon our closeness with God. We cannot be close to a God that we fear or blame, because of what has gone wrong. But in those times when things are not going as we desire, if we know that we can turn to the presence and power of God, we are instantly reassured and helped. To understand ahead of time the right and perfect way to proceed, to be able to look at a situation and judge it aright, through the inspiration from God is a blessing that resurrects us from a life of pain and suffering.
Each of us is a part of all that surrounds us
-- and every joy we feel is a celebration of life.
A REAL FRIEND...
Anyone can stand by you when you are right, but a Friend will stand by you even when you are wrong.
A simple friend identifies himself when he calls. A real friend doesn't have to.
A simple friend opens a conversation with a full news bulletin on his life. A real friend says "What's new with you?"
A simple friend thinks the problems you whine about are recent. A real friends says "You've been whining about the same thing for 14 years. Get off your duff and do something about it."
A simple friend has never seen you cry. A real friend has shoulders soggy from your tears.
A simple friend doesn't know your parents' first names. A real friend has their phone numbers in his address book.
A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your party. A real friend comes early to help you cook. And stays late to help you clean.
A simple friend hates it when you call after he has gone to bed. A real friend asks you why you took so long to call.
A simple friend seeks to talk with you about your problems. A real friend seeks to help you with your problems.

This is one of Fillmore's most profound books as it challenges the serious metaphysical student as well as those seeking in-depth understanding of mind, body, and spirit.
