14 MAR 2010 11:00 AM - "The Wonders of Wanders" -- Guest Speaker: Brian Griffin, Birthday Sunday
We have the opportunity to become a "prayer pal" with someone in our church.
Each person will be given a prayer request to fill out. Later everyone will draw a name of a "pal" to pray with for the following month.
We continue to embrace the concepts of Prosperity as taught by Jesus Christ and practiced throughout the Unity movement. Gardner Hunting in his book “Prove Me Now” tells how through an invitation in the Weekly Unity he started using the Prosperity Bank Program. He points out that definitely reaping is for us, but there must be a time of planting and giving.
One of the important factors in living with expectancy is sincerity. We must take prayerful thought not to pretend as the universe is quick to recognize a counterfeit life. Beneficial results are based on affirmative prayer. When we are humble, we are receptive. Sincerity is the price of personal success and prosperity.
Bring in your faith banks so we can bless them. You may pick up another one in the Narthex.
A meeting about the future of the teen section of the youth department is being held on Saturday, March 20th at 11:00 am at the church. If you are interested in the discussion, please attend. Thank you.
On March 28, Palm Sunday, the children will be going upstairs to share their music with the congregation. Please have your child attend several Sundays before to practice the songs. Also on Palm Sunday, we will have our annual Easter egg hunt and party downstairs. All the children get the same number of eggs, so all ages are encouraged to attend. Our older children enjoy helping the little ones find their Easter eggs. The Easter Egg Hunt's date has been changed from that published in the current Wingspan.
The Youth Education department will be hosting an Easter party and games. However, the Easter Egg Hunt will be held the week before.
We are continuing our study of the 12 Powers. Each power helps us to grow spiritually. In March we will be studying “strength” and April is “wisdom”. We will also be studying our lessons about Lent, Jesus’ life, miracles and teachings. Often our children will ask what Easter is all about. These lessons will help children to understand that Lent is our time to “let go” and to “rethink”. Our Easter lessons emphasize “new life

Horizons
"Open Your Mind to Prosperity"
Starts January 10
Study a chapter a week at home, at your convenience, using the prayer statements and methods found in those chapters during that week. Faithful, daily study can lead to one of the most prosperous time of our life. Please sign up in the Narthex or return the coupon below (the coupon can be found in the November/December Wingspan).
This book has been one of the "best sellers" on prosperity since it was first written in 1971. Many people have learned to think prosperously through the authors prosperity formula, and it has brought changes for the good into their lives.
In the book Catherine Ponder is sharing her succinct formula for prosperity, which has evolved slowing over the years and which she gives in its complete form. Many success courses and books have been written, but unless you learn how to clear away the psychological blocks about prosperity (chapter 1), unless you learn how to cleanse your mind to make way for prosperity (chapter 2) and unless you follow this up by giving your prosperity a spiritual basis (chapter 4) just creating your prosperity first is not enough.
The author quotes Charles Fillmore "The Father's desire for us is unlimited good, not merely the means of a meager existence. We cannot be very happy if we are poor, and nobody needs to be poor. It is a sin to be poor".
You can open your mind to prosperity when you realize through studying and applying the mental and spiritual laws of prosperity you don't have to ask God to give you anything because the Bible promises "all things are yours".
You can also open your mind to prosperity by following Moses' advice to the Hebrews centuries ago "You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth." The prosperity secret of the ages is that God is the source of your supply. The author reminds us to remember that true prosperity includes peace of mind and health.
In cleansing your mind to make way for prosperity there has to be a release of the old to make room for the new. You can unlock your good by forming a vacuum. Get rid of what you don't want in an outer way, because in doing this you form a vacuum, and your subconscious becomes a believer and it then goes to work in inner ways to manifest greater prosperity for you.
Spiritual Interpretation of the Bible

The Annual Meeting
Sunday, 14 February
Much joy, lots of love and great things were accomplished this past year. A big thank you to everyone that was a part of the onward unfoldment of this Jesus Christ ministry.
Welcome and blessings to our incoming Board of Directors: Theresa Bieniek, Sean Donovan, Sylvia Haikio, Darlene Marks, Rick Swalley and Cheryl Tennyson. We give thanks that you answered in the affirmative to the Spirit of God to serve your church in this special way.
Shield’s Restaurant (at Rochester Rd & Tienken) recently offered to cater a meal for some area businesses in a “getting to know you” effort. Dona decided to use the opportunity to introduce the Board members to Shield’s, while also celebrating Sean Donovan’s birthday. (How many candles Sean?????) It was a surprise to Sean and the Board when Shield’s arrived with the food, putting out a delectable spread.
